A few things people ask Amanda
- How did you end up in the mountains and on the coast?
- Like a lot of my clients, I came for a long weekend and started asking what it would take to stay. The mountains slow you down, and the Gulf lets you breathe out. I get to help people find their spot in both, and I never get tired of the moment they walk in and go quiet.
- What should someone know before buying a cabin?
- Drive the road in the rain before you fall for the view. Ask about the well, the septic and who keeps the road clear in winter, and if you plan to rent it out, check the county's short-term rental rules first. Then sit on the porch at the hour you'd really use it.
- And before buying on the beach?
- Gulf-front, Gulf-view and across the street are different prices and different insurance bills, so know which one you're looking at. On a condo, ask how healthy the association's reserves are. On anything, ask for the flood zone before you write an offer.
- Where would we find you on a free Saturday?
- On the porch with coffee if I'm up in the mountains, on the sand if I'm on the coast. By the afternoon I'm usually showing somebody a house I think they're going to love.
